Ashley Posey
Ashley Posey lives in Fairbanks, Alaska with her husband and her cat. They enjoy gardening, hiking, biking, and camping in the great outdoors. When she is not outdoors, she enjoys curling up on the couch and devouring a good book.
Ashley earned her B.A. in Elementary Education and her M.Ed. in People, Place, and Pedagogy, both from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Ashley has worked for five years in the public school system, as the primary teacher for grades 1, 3, and 6, and also in after-school programs for grades K-8. She has over 13 years of leadership experience working with students in camps, church programs, and scouting programs. She is also familiar with homeschooling, since she was homeschooled herself K-12.
Ashley is passionate about helping students to love writing. She enjoyed correspondence writing as an elementary and high school student, and feels that they enabled her to enjoy and excel in her college courses and in her career as a teacher. Ashley is eager to help students refine their skills, increase their confidence, and expand their breadth and complexity of writing.
