History Courses

How WriteAtHome History Works

Approach

Our History 1-4 courses pair with our Lit 1-4 courses, providing students with a great overview of literature and history from each era. We also offer history courses that provide a flow similar to what students would study in a typical high school.

Expectations

Students are given a reading assignment, a recorded lecture, a discussion post, and a quiz to complete each week prior to the live discussion with the teacher.

Delivery

Our history courses include a live session via Zoom once per week to discuss the week’s lesson with the teacher. Many of our history courses are also offered as self-paced versions which do not include the live component.

HISTORY FOR GRADES 8-12

Studying history is not just rehashing the past. By learning how the past shapes our world, we learn how better to engage our present.

Students will be challenged to involve their logic and imagination, to distinguish cause and effect, to clarify motivation and action, and to discern ideas and events in history.

We’re excited for all our history students because your teacher is awesome! Click HERE to learn more about your teacher, Mike Napier.

WriteAtHome offers two high school history tracks: a classical, chronological approach and an approach followed by most schools.
